#SBPT: Makeup and Books with @bftReviews

with 2 comments
Welcome to the start of the Summer Blogger Promo Tour hosted by The Book Bratz! I have Chelsea from Books for Thought on my blog. I am kind of obsessed with the post that she did. So, I found out that Chelsea is a makeup addict just like me and thought a books and makeup post would be fun. I loved the way this came out!

Hey everyone! I want to say a big thank you to Dana for hosting me on her blog today and for coming up with a great topic for me to talk about. Not only do we both love books but we also both love makeup too so I got my camera and makeup bag out to pair up my favourite make up items with some gorgeous book covers. In case any of you love makeup as much as us, I'm listing what products I used in my pictures in case you're interested in something.

books and makeup Here I paired up Air Awakens by Elise Kova (which was a 5 star read!) and Summer & Bird by Katherin Catmull (which is on my TBR) with some of my favourite things! What I used:
  • Naked 3 palette
  • Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Color Care in Satin
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Memorable
  • Manna Sheer Glow Shimmer Lotion
  • Trestique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm
  • Maybelline Shinesational Lip Gloss in Freshly Sliced

I was inspired by Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton (which is on my TBR) for this one. I added in Of Neptune by Anna Banks because it also has that gorgeous blue colour in it. I hope you're all thinking of summer now! What I used
  • Little Mermaid Palette by Sephora
  • Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara
  • L'Oreal Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Black
  • EOS lip balm
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald
  • Benefit Porefessional Balm
  • Cirque Colors nail polish
  • Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Peri-Wink

I couldn't do these pictures without showing off some of my favourite red lipsticks now could I? I choose Cinder by Marissa Meyer (loved it!) and The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski (on my TBR) to go with it because of that pop of red they both have. Pair some nude eyes and a bright red lip and you're ready to go out! What I used
  • Maybelline Stiletto mascara in Very Black
  • Nyx More to Love Mascara
  • Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush
  • Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Lip Gloss shade 245
  • Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick in Pin Up Peach
  • Maybelline Lip Pencil in Red
  • Tarte Lip Gloss

Ok so my second favourite colour is orange mostly because it's a colour that fits my personality and I'm one of those rare people who can actually wear it. I think the very pale skin probably helps. Here I picked Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck (5 stars!) and The Fire Wish by Amber Lough (my TBR pick) to go with my orange makeup. What I used
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Mandarin Rapturr
  • Maybelline Vivids Lip Stick in Shocking Coral
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in Rendezvous
  • Lise Watier Fard Paupieres Eyeshadow in Orange Crush
  • Micabella Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Allowance
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo in Fierce & Tangy
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Last one! Summer is in the air, kind of. At least where I live. I'm sure it's already plenty warm anywhere below me. I've been thinking of that warm sunshine lately and wanted to showcase some bright greens and purples. Here I've got Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (on my TBR - don't hate me!) and Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz (which I loved!). What I used
  • Bath and Body Works Shimmer Mist in Sweet on Paris
  • J Cats Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter
  • Sephora Pantone Elementsl Energy Palette
  • Body Shop tee Tree Face Mask
  • Body Shop Drops of Youth Serum
  • Urban Decay Peversion Mascara
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Raspberry
  • Revlon Eyelash Curler

Go check out Chelsea! Aren't these pictures amazing? Are you a makeup addict? What are some of your favorite products/brands?

This was a fantastic idea for a post! Now that I am older I use very little make-up and am pretty well set in my brand names, so seeing all of these new to me products was fun. I am, however, well acquainted with the EOS products because my sister is addicted to them. Ha! :)
