Freebie
1. Chosen at Nightfall by C.C Hunter
I signed up for #SeriesaMonth and decided that for January I would finish up the Shadow Falls series. I read the first two books in a bind up in 2014 and needed to read the rest. I read books one and two during the huge blizzard that hit the east-coast. I'm excited to see how this ends, just annoyed that my ship seems to be sinking. Derek, I'll have you.
2. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab
I started this one awhile back, but I just didn't get really into it. I know how much everyone loves this one so I am dying to get back to it. The world building was tripping me up a bit, too many Londons for one girl to handle. This will be my first Schwab book and it will be counting for the Flights of Fantasy challenge.
3. Rebel Mechanics by Shawna Swendson
I have heard really great things about this book. I don't normally read many traditionally steampunk novels, which is why I signed up for a Steampunk Challenge. This one sounds right up my alley and it would be great to get another book off my TBR.
4. Wandering Star by Romina Russell
I just don't understand why I haven't finished this one yet. Like hello Dana, what are you doing?! I though Zodiac was great and I started off loving Wandering Star. At some point (vacation) I put it down and I just need to pick it back up and finish it.
5. Starflight by Melissa Landers
Alienated and Invaded are great books. Melissa Landers has a great writing style. Her books are fun and entertaining. I can't wait to read her newest one and go on an adventure through space. I am loving that we are actually getting more YA in space.
6. Dumplin by Julie Murphy
Another book and author that I've heard amazing things about, but have just not read yet. I've heard this one is extremely funny. I'm going to use this one for the Goodreads Award challenge and the Contemporary Romance challenge.
7. Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
I read Shadow and Bone in 2014 and then started but never finished Siege and Storm. I really want to reread the first book and finish the series. I'm hoping to pick up Six of Crows, because I've heard great things about that one. This will be my February series and then it counts for Flights of Fantasy.
8. The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
I NEED TO READ IT AND YET I AM AFRAID TO. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE THIS SERIES. SOMEONE HOLD ME.
9. The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien
I am a huge LotRs movie fan, but I feel like such an untrue fan having not read the books. I'm currently listening to the first one on audiobook. It's kinda boring me though and I've taken a ton of breaks from it. This is my second attempt.
10. All of the School Books
I'm taking 3 lit classes (Intro, YA, and Jane Austen) so there goes a huge portion of my reading time but I am pretty excited for these required reads.
What are some of the next books on your TBR? Are you trying to make a TBR focused on your challenges? I'd love to read your freebie topic!
This is a great list, Dana! Rebel Mechanics is on my list for the Steampunk Challenge. SO GREAT to see you joining in that challenge! Maybe you and I can do a buddy read of it?
ReplyDeleteDumplin' is also on my TBR for the Contemporary Romance challenge! :)
I have to figure out which series to do for February, since I completely failed at January (but to be fair, I'm only pushing myself to do 6 for a #SeriesAMonth (BECAUSE WEDDING YO)
I'll be starting a monthly TBR portion in February, so expect to see some of these books on that post! :)

I loved Rebel Mechanics and Starflight! They're both a lot of fun so I hope you enjoy them too. And of course ADSOM. But I can understand it being hard to get into. It sort of just drops you right into the middle of Kell's story. But once it picks up, it's easier to understand the Londons and it gets really good!
ReplyDeleteI think the next few books on my TBR are These Vicious Masks, Rebel Bully Geek Pariah, and something for one of my challenges!
I also really want to read the Grisha trilogy! I've heard it is so good and I even own a signed copy of the first book, yet I have yet to read it.

OOoh nice! Loved Chosen at Nightfall! But I pretty much LOVE C.C.'s Shadow Falls world! Hope you enjoy all these as you read them!
