TV Talk is a new series of posts here where I will talk about the TV Shows I am watching, want to watch, and the shows that got away ( go figure from the name).
1. The Strain
|This was the only promo pick that I could find that wouldn't freak people out.|
This is probably not the greatest show for those who aren't fans of horror or are squeamish, but this show is freaking awesome. It is a vampire apocalypse show set in New York. It is all kinds of epic. It is totally disgusting at times. I love the back story, which is fully fleshed out and fascinating. It is just crazy and I love it. I need more people watching this one. It is one of those shows that you will be screaming at the characters and freaking out. It is only on its second season and I think you should be watching it right now. Plus, I am kind of a huge special effects makeup fan so this show just does such a great job with their scary vampires.
I JUST FINISHED SEASON 1! This show is amazing. The music is amazing. The drama is just off the chain. It is really funny and I just fell in love with this show. I can't wait for all of the crazy things that are sure to happen in season 2. My favorite characters are Cookie and Jamal. I just can't deal with all of Cookie's shenanigans. This show is about a family whose father is a music mogul and follows them as they journey towards turning their record company into a publicly traded company. The three sons are also in a competition of who will be the heir to the company.
This show is currently in its first season. It needs a ton more hype. This show is scripted, but it is what the behind the scenes of The Bachelor. It follows one of the producers, Rachel, as she has to manipulate the contestants to get certain reactions for the show. Rachel is just a mess and I love her. There is so much drama in this show. It is definitely a soap opera type show, but I love seeing a behind the scenes look at a reality TV show despite this being scripted. It has become my "guilty pleasure" show in that I love watching it with tons of sugar and I am always excited for the next episode.
Of the rest of the shows that I am talking about this is one of the shows that isn't so much a recent binge or currently on. I binge watched Bitten awhile back with my Mom. I love this show. I need to read some of Kelley Armstrong's books. I love that this is a werewolf show and it is ton of fun. Elena is so kick ass. I am just in love with this show. Canadians just make great TV shows, #truth. I need the third season right now. Ugh, the wait is going to be horrible.
5. Grace & Frankie
This show is really out of my TV comfort zone. I like comedy movies, but comedic TV shows just aren't my thing. I just don't think a lot of comedy shows on TV have amazing hooks and they tend to never draw me in right away. I am much more of a fantasy/scifi/drama kind of TV watcher. BUT this show had amazing trailers and I just decided to give it a shot. Grace and Frankie have to deal with the aftermath of finding out that their husbands are in love and divorcing them. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are hilarious. I was cracking up the entire time I binge watched this show to the point that my Mom would come into the living room and start watching it to see what was so funny. It was totally not a show that I thought I would love, but I did. Let's just stand up and applaud the amazing Netflix original programming.
What are some shows that you think need more love? Do you watch any of these shows? I have a TV problem, but I am always on the search for more TV shows to watch.
