Broadcast Reads: New Orleans Settings

with No comments

Broadcast Reads is a post series where I recommend you books based off the shows you like and vice versa.

Welcome to the second installment of Broadcast Reads! The first one went over really well and I have been meaning to continue this series but I just wasn't very inspired.

I am currently marathoning True Blood and decided to do a New Orleans themed Broadcast Reads, but True Blood isn't really set in New Orleans.

Are you a fan of The Originals?

The Originals is a spin off of the tv show The Vampire Diaries, but the way they have set up the show is that you don't have to have ever seen any. It follows the original vampire family the Michaelsons as they take back their home New Orleans. This show is chock pull of paranormals from vampires, werewolves, witches to hybrids of all three. The Originals has much more mature themes than The Vampire Diaries.

I loved the first three seasons of The Vampire Diaries, but it has gone down hill and The Originals has been amazing. I love all of the shenanigans that this family gets up to they truly are dysfunctional.

I can't wait to see what else Julie Plec does with this story and these phenomenal characters.

5 Reasons Why You Need To Watch This Series:
1. Klaus + Elijah ( Do I need to say more?)
2. It just keeps getting better and better.
3. The family aspects make this show shine!
4. It is action packed and has some amazing plot lines.
5. It has an amazing ensemble cast.

Then you should check out Flight!

Are you a fan of Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy?
Read my Review!

This is a new adult paranormal romance. Flight follows Allie as she finds out that New Orleans has more to offer than just the human variety.

Flight in particular follows the romance between Allie and a Pteron, the royalty of the paranormal world in this series, as they deal with maintaining power, staying safe, and dealing with human/pteron romance. Pteron are winged creatures who look human in every way except for the wings who only mate with humans. There are plenty of other paranormals in this series as well.

This book is very addicting and has a great hook. I need to continue on since I have only read the first two books in the series.

This book is action packed and really funny. I love that it is new adult because it more mature in content.

5 Reasons Why You Need to Read This Series:
1. It is very unique for anything paranormal that I have read.
2. Love hate relationship
3. Quick read
4. Alyssa Rose Ivy's writing is hilarious
5. It is currently FREE!

You can check out Alyssa Rose Ivy's spin off series that all center around New Orleans in some way The Dire Wolves Chronicles series and Allure Chronicles.

If you're a fan of Flight you should check out The Originals and vice versa!

Here is a another paranormal book that I am very excited to read soon... Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout!

Do you have any other New Orleans based paranormal books, TV shows, or movies that you would like to recommend?
