Top Ten New To Me Authors in 2014This list is in no particular order, but I tried to mainly pick authors that I have read more than one book of this year. I list the books I read from them in order that I read them not by publication in some cases!
1. Sarah J. Maas
Books read: Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight
I don't know what took me so long to start this series, BUT I AM NOW OBSESSED! I have Heir of Fire and it will be read very soon, maybe before the year ends! Seriously though I am now in love with high fantasy. This is definitely one of my favorite series now and Sarah J. Maas will be an auto-buy author for me.
Check out Rachel's review of Heir of Fire!
2. Marie Rutkoski
Books read: The Winner's Curse and The Winner's Crime
I read both the first and second books in this series. I am emotionally distraught over them. I have to wait forever for book three (which won't have arcs) gonna die of the feels though. This is one of my favorite series and I don't know what I will do when it ends.
Rachel and I will have reviews of The Winner's Crime up closer to release date.
Check out Rachel's review of The Winner's Curse!
3. Alyssa Rose Ivy
Books read: Flight, The Hazards of a One Night Stand, The Hazards of Sex on the Beach, The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, Focus, Dire, Derailed, and The Hazards of Mistletoe
My most read author of the year and probably my favorite new to me author for that reason. I love how addictive Alyssa's books are and I can't wait until I can say that I have read all of her books.
4. C.C Hunter
Books read: Born at Midnight and Awake at Dawn
This is always a series that I have been wanting to read, but I just was too late for the party. I picked up the bind up of the first two and was in love. This series is campy and fun. I love paranormal and was really happy to be reading my favorite genre again when I picked these up.
Check out Rachel's review of Eternal!
5. Michelle Madow
Books read: The Secret Diamond Sisters and Diamonds in The Rough
I am really loving this series! I am on the street team and even met Michelle at Book Con. I can't wait to read more of her books especially this series. Her books are really fun and full of drama. Seriously Gossip Girl meets Switched at Birth!
6. Erica Crouch
Books read: Ignite, Entice, Madly Deeply, and The Empath
I am an intern for Patchwork-Press and am in love with Erica's beautiful writing. She also writes beautiful romances and I can't wait for Incite and more books from her.
7. Kellie Sheridan
Books read: Mortality, Duality, End Dayz, and Follow the White Rabbit
Also another PWP author, who I am obsessed with. I love the amount of action in Kellie's books and the plots are amazing. I am dying for Four of a Kind, her first contemporary series.
8. Nikki Kelly
Book read: LailahNikki Kelly is literally the nicest person ever! I am so glad that I am on the Lailah street team. I get to pimp this one out like cray and I have made some great friends through this book. I am so not ready for Gabriel; fingers crossed my ship sails (JONAH FOREVER!)
Check out Rachel's review of Lailah!
9. Stephanie Perkins
Book read: Anna and The French Kiss
CAN SOMEONE THROW A BOOK AT ME FOR NOT HAVING READ THIS SOONER?!? What was I doing with my life? I missed out on some amazing fluff and romance. Seriously Lola and The Boy Next Door is in my amazon shopping cart right now.
10. Courtney Alameda
Book read: Shutter
This book needs to become a movie and I am ready to read anything Courtney writes. It was so action packed and crazy. Seriously, this book was my jam. I am praying that the movie rights are sold because that would be epic!
Review coming in February!
Do we have any of the same authors in common? Also who were your favorite new to you authors? I would love to know and perhaps add more books to my massive TBR!
