Top Ten Bookish Goals For 2014
I am really excited for 2015! I want to write more, read more, and blog more. I feel like this is my year and I am motivated to do more.
Here are some of my goals that i hope to accomplish during the new bookish year:
I have to say that this has been the struggle that has plagued me the entire time I have been blogging. My blog was born in 2011, but there have been months were I didn't post. I attribute a lot of the inconsistency to school, but at the same time I am LAZY!! I know it, you probably know it, and I hate it. I want to be a blogger who posts everyday or at least several times a week.
2. Post more original content i.e discussion type posts
I know as a blogger it is really easy to sign up for book blitzs, cover reveals, author guests posts, interviews, and other promo type posts. These posts are great, but in moderation which I have learned. I want to post more content that I have put my own time and effort into rather than an easy post.
3. Be more social on twitter and make more blogger friends.
I have come a long way on this goal. I think this was on my list last year and I feel like I have conquered it. I am definitely an introvert and I was always really timid when it came to engaging other bloggers in conversations on twitter. But I think I have gotten over this quite a lot. I still want to make more blogger friends and have more conversations on twitter.
4. Comment on other blogs more often!
I really want to focus on reading more blogs and then commenting on their posts. I read blog posts everyday, but the actual commenting thing can slip my mind. I really need to be better about this and comment back more! I am trying bare with me on this!
5. Read 150 books
My goal in 2014 was to read 100 books. I then accomplished that and at the time I am typing this I am at 112 books with 3 days left of the year. I know I will finish two more in this time. I feel like 3 books a week is something I can do especially with how much I have been reading lately. This is actually an easier goal for me.
6. Finish more series.
I have a lot of hesitation when it comes to reading the last book in a series. Rachel and I wrote a whole discussion about series ending. I love series. I love seeing characters and worlds develop. There is nothing like starting a new series, which I love. The hard part is keeping up with all of the series that I start. Then I get to the point where I am afraid to continue series. I recently purchased only sequels so hopefully this is a problem that I can begin to tackle.
7. Post more often on Rachel's blog.
You guys know that Rachel of A Perfect Called Books is my co-blogger. We basically share a brain. She posts here and we work on co-reviews, co-discussions, tags, and different events together. I really need to review more books over on her blog. Bad Dana!
8. Be more creative in my posts
This kind of correlates to #2, but I just want to post more unique and different in content. I feel like I post a lot of the same old stuff that every one else is posting. I want to try and be a little more outside of the box. I think of myself as a creative person and I want to bring more of my ideas for my blog to life rather than staying dormant in my brain.
9. Review all of the books that I read
I recently posted a discussion about all of the books I read and never reviewed in 2014; there were 27 books. I really want to review every book I read, or at least discuss it in a post, because I want to share my opinions about it. I want to post more reviews. I do read quite a lot of books that I never get around to talking about.
10. Go to more book signings and events.
I went to the Pitch Dark signing in February, Book Con, and Comic Con in 2014. I live in NYC where there are many signings and events every month. This is a mission that I really want to do. I also am going to go to Book Con again this year and hopefully BEA.
What are some of your 2015 bookish goals? Do we have any similar goals? I would love to know!
