Book Description:
Freshman year of college is hard even when you're not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.Review:
Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she's in far too deep to turn back.
Focus is the sequel to the new adult paranormal romance Flight by the amazing Alyssa Rose Ivy. I absolutely adored Flight and was dying to buy the sequel. I didn't enjoy Focus as much as Flight though. I didn't dislike it, but it just didn't wow me as much as the first. I still really love this series and I will definitely buy the third book. I was just annoyed with Allie through the majority of this book.
Like with all of Alyssa Rose Ivy's books, Focus only took me about a day to read. It picked up right where Flight ended off. What bothered me about Focus was Allie? Allie really frustrated me. I understand why she was annoyed with Levi, but her long drawn out fight with him felt unnecessary. Through out the story I would even forget why they weren't together in the first place. Allie really knows how to hold a grudge.
I think I have fallen even more in love with Levi from Focus! Levi is just so sweet and caring. Yet Levi is also really snarky and protective. If you love Daemon from the Lux series than you will love Levi.
For me not much really happened in Focus. There were a few OMG moments and plot twists, but overall it did feel like a filler book. What I did love about it was that it did expand upon the world. We were introduced to even more paranormal creatures. There was also a lot more character development for the minor characters such as Hailey.
The Crescent Chronicles so far has been a a great paranormal romance series. It does feature some more unique creatures and does it in a great way. The world is really different and I love that. Levi is a fantastic male love interest. Alyssa Rose Ivy's writing is snarky as always. Allie was rather frustrating in this book, but that is a quality I find very common in YA/NA female paranormal protagonists. I will definitely be continuing on with this series very soon! Alyssa Rose Ivy has definitely been one of my favorite authors of the summer and I am so glad that I found her books because I plan on reading them all!
