REVIEW: COLD FURY (BOOK ONE)
Cold Fury is the first in a young adult thriller/mystery series that also has a bit of the supernatural in it as well. I loved the writing styles and the overall tone of this novel. Sara is an amazing female protagonist. She is definitely not perfect, but she is incredibly strong. This is definitely a book that you should check out.
Cold Fury different spin on a mystery/thriller novel and even recognizes that fact in the novel. The writing and voice is really fantastic. T.M Goeglein has written first person is such a way that it feels like Sara is having a discussion with you rather than you reading a book. The writing is hysterical and I loved that for a book of this genre it doesn't ever feel too serious.
As a native New Yorker, I found the mob and Italian aspects very interesting. There were a lot of things I was able to connect with and understand. Even though these characters are in Chicago, I still found a way to connect. I think there are a lot of themes that anyone can really connect with in this book, which makes it great.
This story is told through these sort of flashbacks. We know what will happen, but the how is the mystery. Sometimes that really irritates me in novels because it eventually becomes predictable halfway through once you piece everything together. That never happened to me with this book though.
Cold Fury is a must read that will have you on the edge of your seat needing to know what will happen next. Cold Fury is funny, suspenseful, action packed, and quick read; that you most certainly will enjoy.
