The Adoration Of Jenna Fox
Who is Jenna Fox? Seventeen-year-old Jenna has been told that is her name. She has just awoken from a coma, they tell her, and she is still recovering from a terrible accident in which she was involved a year ago. But what happened before that? Jenna doesn't remember her life. Or does she? And are the memories really hers?
This fascinating novel represents a stunning new direction for acclaimed author Mary Pearson. Set in a near future America, it takes readers on an unforgettable journey through questions of bio-medical ethics and the nature of humanity. Mary Pearson's vividly drawn characters and masterful writing soar to a new level of sophistication.
The Fox Inheritance
Once there were three. Three friends who loved each other—Jenna, Locke, and Kara. And after a terrible accident destroyed their bodies, their three minds were kept alive, spinning in a digital netherworld. Even in that disembodied nightmare, they were still together. At least at first. When Jenna disappeared, Locke and Kara had to go on without her. Decades passed, and then centuries.
Two-hundred-and-sixty years later, they have been released at last. Given new, perfect bodies, Locke and Kara awaken to a world they know nothing about, where everyone they once knew and loved is long dead.
Everyone except Jenna Fox.Goodreads
Locke Jenkins has some catching up to do. After spending 260 years as a disembodied mind in a little black box, he has a perfect new body. But before he can move on with his unexpected new life, he’ll have to return the Favor he accepted from the shadowy resistance group known as the Network.
Locke must infiltrate the home of a government official by gaining the trust of his daughter, seventeen-year-old Raine, and he soon finds himself pulled deep into the world of the resistance—and into Raine’s life.
Mary E. Pearson brings the story she began in The Adoration of Jenna Fox and continued in The Fox Inheritance to a breathtaking conclusion as Locke discovers that being truly human requires much more than flesh and blood.

Here Are Two Questions I Got To Ask Mary~
What was the inspiration for the Jenna Fox series?
The first seeds of the story were planted when my teenage daughter was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Of course at first I was terrified, but very soon I realized how lucky we were that we lived where we did and when we did because there was a good treatment. Just fifty years earlier she would have died of this disease and now, thanks to good doctors and good treatments she would survive.
It made me wonder just how far medicine would advance in another fifty years. And then as she went treated and I saw far sicker children in the hospital and the agony their parents were going through, I wondered again, how far would a parent go to save their child? How much would they be willing to put them through? As a parent, how far would I go?
Of course, these were only "wonderings" of mine at the time. I didn’t know these would be questions that would one day be the impetus for a story.
The first book was intended to be a standalone, but after I finished it I felt there were still some unanswered questions—and they nagged at me as story ideas are prone to do! In the first book I tried to explore several conflicting viewpoints. I love exploring gray areas, but after The Adoration of Jenna Fox was finished, I felt there was still a voice that needed a chance to speak. That was Locke’s voice. He had a very different experience than Jenna’s. I felt his voice needed to be heard too.
Are there any new books in the works?
Yes! I always have a book in the works. That was some of the first advice I was given when I sold my first book—Don’t rest on your laurels—get back to work! I really couldn’t have it any other way. It's just the way my brain works. Stories percolate. Even if I’m not actively writing them down, they’re always there whispering to me.
The newest book is part of a series too that will be out in 2014. But I need to get back to work so that can happen!
My Review of Fox Forever~
Fox Forever is the amazing conclusion to the Jenna Fox Chronicles. As whole I loved how Mary was able to make a futuristic world seem so realistic. There are so many science fiction books out there that are amazing but hardly connectable for the reader. I applaud Mary's beautiful writing for the fact that she wrote from the point of view of characters who were only a percentage human, but somehow they were more human than any I had ever read.
After The Fox Inheritance I was head over heels for Locke so I was very happy to read another book in which he was the narrator. Of the whole series Fox Forever was the most exciting since the stakes seemed to be a lot higher. I usually am not a fan of series that don't stick with the same narrator. What makes the Jenna Fox Chronicles unique is how closely 3 characters could be tied together through one life changing event. Jenna is for me what tied these books together so for me I may have enjoyed The Adoration of Jenna Fox the most of the trilogy.
Locke's romance with Raine was incredible. Raine was a really great character who was definitely someone most people would like. Overall I couldn't put this book down and was so sad to read the end of it and realize it was over. If you love science fiction books you will love this series and even if you don't you may be surprised to find how human these characters are. (My friend who hates Fantasy and Science Fiction with a passion, loved the first book so I would say give it a try)
