She writes both adult and young adult urban fantasies and when not obsessing over the unknown, she can be found dancing, reading, or enjoying a good movie.
I absolutely am in love with this series. I think that this is just a fantastic YA series. As for it being a second installment it doesn't fall short from the first. I think in a lot of ways it was much better. So if you haven't read Promises what are you waiting for go read it.
Betrayal really is a great title for this book because Eviana learns of some big secrets in this one. I have to say Amber didn't give you a predictable story when she wanted to clue you in she did. I thought that was great because as Eviana was beginning to think something was a little fishy so did the reader.
Now probably one of the biggest plots in this story is Eviana's love life. So we have three guys this time around Kain, Brendan, and Graham. Now I personally want her to be with Kain. As characters go I think he is just so genuine and honest . Brendan was her teenage love, forbidden, but in this book we really see Eviana mature and grow into a leader and you can see that yes they love each other but sometimes that isn't enough. Now Graham I have to say I think he was a great addition to this story. Every time I read about all I could of was Adrian from The Vampire Academy. I think when this story ended that he may not be the most trustworthy like Kain but we will definitely be seeing him in Arise.
When Promises ended you knew that a war would be brewing but I have to say I didn't think it would be this action packed I am so excited to read Arise! I am still rooting for Kain! I am so shocked by all the drama in this story so amazing.
